FAQ

PRIX is an Australian start up founded in 2018. Our mission is to develop a proactive health tracking service that lets you understand more about how your lifestyle impacts your health

All our kits need to be purchased online through our website. Orders will be shipped straight to your delivery address so you can take your samples from home in your own time.

We are continuing to expand our areas of operation. If we currently don't deliver to where you live, drop us a note or sign up to our mailing list and we will let you when we can. At the moment we only operate within Australia

Prix is not a lab. We use Australian Clinical Labs (ACL) to analyse our users tests who are one of the largest private pathology providers in Australia. They are accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA) with the following standards:
  • AS15189 Medical Laboratories, Requirements for Quality and Competence
  • AS17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories
  • AS 4308
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Requirements
  • Australia/New Zealand Guidelines for Transfusion Laboratory Practice
  • National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council Guidelines and
  • Australian Quarantine & Inspection Service.
Note some remote/at home tests might fall outside of NATA/RCPA accreditation

We work closely with our partner labs to ensure our collection kits and testing methods provide reliable and accurate data. As our lab is accredited by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) this ensures that tests are carried out accurately and competently.

It depends on what is being tested! Different biomarkers have different conditions to testing. Some are better in the morning, others need to be done through the day. Your instructions will be the best guide as to when you should take your test

Some of our kits do have expiration dates. If your kit has an expiration date it will be printed on the outside. We recommend completing your test within 30 days of receiving your kit.

You will receive an email notification when your test results are ready to view. We aim for a 10 working day turnaround of test results.

It depends on what is being tested. We try and ensure each sample only takes a few minutes to collect however, we might require multiple samples to be taken through the day. Your instruction guide will let you know what you need to do, and how long it will take.

Our tests are not designed as a diagnostic tool. We provide results reviewed by a GP so you can more accurately track and monitor your health. If anything does flag as outside normal, we encourage you to take your results to your regular health practioner for further testing and treatment. If you suspect you might have a medical condition your regular GP should always be the first person you discuss this with.

We provide a more detailed picture of your normal wellness levels, to help you better understand what's going on inside your body. By understanding how your lifestyle impacts your health you can make changes and track the effect these changes have on your health. If anything does flag adnormal you can discuss with your GP sooner, preventing small problems from becoming bigger issues.

Most people will have a result or two outside of normal. Our GPs will help you make sense of your results and we encourage you to discuss them with your regular medical practitioner. If you suspect you might have a medical condition you should discuss this with your regular GP

Certain medications may impact test results which are usually detailed in our instructions. You should not cease taking any prescribed medication before discussing this with your GP or Health Practitioner. We do not endorse the discontinuation of taking any medication in order to gain better results. If you are on medication please list them in the "Other" section of your health profile to provide more context to our reviewing GP.

Once you have taken your sample(s), filled out all the paperwork, labeled everything correctly and sealed in the return packaging please store in the fridge until you are ready to drop off or post back your test.

All of the kits we send out are single use. Please dispose of left over waste responsibly

Blood tests should be returned the same day they are collected. Saliva tests can be stored in the fridge for longer - please refer to your instructions as to how long you can store your sample for.

All test results are reviewed by Australian GPs who work with Prix. Their comments are made available through your personal health dashboard

Yes, you can - and if you are feeling sick or concerned about your health we encourage you to go see your GP first. We complement the public health service, allowing you to track key health markers in between GP visits from the comfort of home - so that you can build a better picture of baseline health. If any risk factors are picked up by our tests, you can go discuss these with your GP earlier than if you had never been tested.

Unfortunately not. This is a private service and not covered by the Medicare rebate.

No! PRIX is not a replacement for your doctor. What we want to do is help identify risk factors BEFORE you fall sick so that you and your doctor can stop problems becoming serious. We are not a diagnostic tool. If you think you have a medical condition you should always see your regular GP first.

To offer the broadest range of tests possible we use a mix of our own collection kits and those from some of Australia's top pathology providers. All results are still reviewed by Prix’s GPs and reported through our online dashboard.
